Drilling mud services

Drilling mud services are integrated services during preparation, use, cleaning and utilization of drilling fluids. Drilling mud services are inseparable part of the drilling process.

Drilling mud – a mixture of different chemical agents with water or other bases.

Drilling mud functions:

• flushing out the cuttings;
• carrying the drilled cuttings in suspended state during well stand by;
• creating back pressure to the wellbore walls during the drilling process to prevent bridgeover and water, oil and gas ingress;  
• lubricating and cooling of drilling bit in the process of drilling; corrosion protection of the drilling equipment, drill string.

Complex drilling mud services include:

• selection of compositions and preparation of drilling muds;
• engineering servicing of the drilling mud;
• cleaning and disposal of the drilling mud.
