Specialists of Water Technologies and Service Division (Mirrico Group) updated software and implemented variable frequency controllers for source water pumping station of treatment facilities at the Kostromskaya mine (MMK-Ugol). The new solution is expected to ensure reduction of energy consumption for the internal needs of the treatment facilities.

— In 2018, being a part of the EPCM project we constructed the treatment facilities based on unique DyClar dynamic clarification technology for the Kostromovskaya mine. During operation, it was found that uneven inflow of mine water requires lower capacity treatment than it was provided by our technology. We offered to install frequency converters to control source water pumps and to add a function allowing the operator to increase or decrease capacity based on the input water volume to the automatic control system (ACS) software. The solution was implemented, tested and approved by the customer in the shortest possible time.

Following the completion of works, a repeated comprehensive test of updated DyClar plant was conducted: over 72-hour operation the technology demonstrated high treatment rate meeting the SanPin standards not only for suspended solids but also for other water quality indicators.

Further cooperation between the Mirrico Group and the MMK-Ugol involves the second stage of construction of treatment facilities and maintenance in terms of chemical treatment of the mine waters of the enterprise.
